Ottawa’s Fairmont Chateau Laurier is a foodie’s dream

Have you ever wanted to stay in a castle? You can on your next trip or staycation in Ottawa. The historic Fairmont Chateau Laurier is a castle that offers world-class dining, luxury suites, and one-of-a-kind architecture in the city.

It is one of two Ottawa hotels to be awarded the CAA/AAA Four Diamond Award winners for 2022, and here’s why.

Four Diamond Awards

The annual Four Diamond Awards winners are selected based on anonymous inspections. They are reviewed for providing an exceptional experience, creativity and cleanliness by CAA/AAA and must meet outstanding standards to win this incredible achievement. Four Diamond Award winners are amongst just seven percent of hotels and restaurants reviewed by CAA/AAA in North America and the Caribbean. To view the complete list of winners, visit aaa.com/diamonds.

If you’ve ever visited Ottawa, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the Fairmont Chateau Laurier. It neighbours top attractions like the Parliament Buildings, Rideau Canal, ByWard Market and National Art Gallery.

The colossal castle is a city staple for locals and tourists alike, as the astonishing Gothic-like design makes for the perfect photo opportunity.

The interior is just as incredible. The hotel’s sophisticated lobby features antique furniture, high ceilings, hand-carved wood worked walls and a grand staircase. Upon entering, the stellar staff will greet you and make you feel at home.

The hotel offers various room designs, so the most challenging part of your visit will be choosing your favourite room. Want to wake up to views of Parliament? Pick the “View Room.” Need extra space for the kids to play around? Be sure to book a “Deluxe Room” with a larger layout, a sitting area, and a sleeping area. Luxury accommodation, warm hospitality, and luxurious decor are guaranteed regardless of which room you pick.
